# Privacy

> What StellarFirm keeps and why, the conversation text and analytics switches in Settings, and how to edit or delete what your assistants remember.

StellarFirm keeps what it needs to run your company and to keep the product working well. You have switches for the optional parts, and you can see and delete what your assistants remember.

## What StellarFirm keeps and why

| What your assistants remember | So they do not ask you the same thing twice. You control it. |
| A usage record | So Usage can show what your assistants spent. |
| Model call analytics (optional) | So problems can be fixed and answers kept good. You control it. |

Your email address from the waitlist is used to tell you when your invitation is ready and for occasional product updates. It is not sold, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

## Choices in Settings

Open [Settings](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/settings) and go to **Privacy**.

### Model call analytics

Each time an assistant asks a model for an answer, StellarFirm can record the call so problems can be fixed and answers kept good. The record covers:

- your account and company identifiers,
- which assistant made the call, and the conversation it belongs to,
- how large the call was, and how long it took.

Turn off **Share model call analytics** and no calls are recorded for your account.

### Conversation text

A second switch, **Include conversation text**, decides whether the words themselves are included: the messages, answers, and tool steps of a call, with keys and passwords removed. It applies to assistants running in StellarFirm cloud.

- With it off, only sizes and identifiers are sent, never the words.
- It stays off while model call analytics is off.

> Turning these off does not stop the usage record your credits are counted from. That record is how [Usage](/docs/credits/usage) can show what was used.

The screen shows the state of each switch, and when and by whom it was last changed.

## Memory

Assistants can remember facts about you and your company, such as how you like pull requests written. You are in charge of that memory.

1. Open [Settings](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/settings) and go to **Memory**.
2. Read the list. Every remembered item is shown.
3. Edit an item and save it, or remove it. Removing asks you to confirm first.
4. To start fresh, remove all of it.

## Tips for keeping things private

- Do not paste passwords or tokens into chat. Use the Integrations screen for tokens.
- Keep your company brief to rules and context. It is read before every job.
- Use Memory to delete anything you would rather not have kept.
